At first I was wondering why you would need wood stoves down there, but then I remembered my brief trip to Arizona when I almost froze my butt off at night.

What kind of wood do you guys burn down there? We're mostly oak, maple and birch around here.

I like two seperate wood piles myself. I like mesquite for cooking and then what ever's being sold around (cause I'm usually too lazy to get a permit and go cut my own in the mtns.) Light fast burning stuff usually. When we first set up here we generated our own electric (solar) so I yanked out the heater and used the space as a pantry. To heat the hse instead I bought a wood stove. And remember, round these parts anything below 80 is jacket weather.
