If you are looking for freshwater, TPWD is about to start stocking ponds and lakes around Houston with Rainbows. Some are a quick trip from Downtown and are accessible with a fly rod. All are catch and keep and most are little dink trout but they are fun catching and if you are lucky you will catch some bass and perch as well.

Here is a list of places with schedule and directions.
