I've been to both Hotwells and American shooting center. Hot wells is definately cheap but as others have posted, somewhat lax. That said, regardless of where you shoot you should always be alert to those around you. It only takes a moment for someone to do something stupid.

i go to a place in hardin.. it's also only 15 mins from my house.. but it's $5 person.. has a pistol range, 25, 50, 100, 200, & 300 yard targets..

Been going to Hot Wells off US 290 for years. Got my CHL Licence there and all my renewal. Bunch of great people IMO.
