moved here 3-1/2 yrs ago from the mitten (MI) and couldn't be happier. Oil Industry career brought be down here and I will never live back there again. Found our home here in Houston and have finally started pickin up some of the southern lingo. Fixin' to go home ya'll...lata!
I lived in Houston for 4 years. Been back in Maryland for the last 3. I don't miss the heat, but man Houston was a great place. Loved the diversity and the great food options!
Born in Seattle, been in Houston/clear lake area since my dad moved us down here when I was two (he worked for a Nasa contractor). It's a whole different place now; I never thought I'd see traffic jams on El Dorado, but they just keep building and building... I guess people don't mind the heat, as long as there are jobs here...
Houstonian born and raised! Grew up in the Bear Creek area, moved 6th ward downtown with my husband 4 years ago, then purchased a house on the East End. I'm basically 30 minutes from all major suburbs :-)
Oil industry brought me here. Figured I'd end up here eventually after working oil/gas in Dallas and Denver. Live in The woodlands area and like it pretty well. I'll quit the oil business if I ever have to work downtown!
But I must say...., my heart's in Alabama! Roll Tide!!
