BBQ near Huntsville

I'm going to be traveling to HSV over the next couple weeks. Any outstanding BBQ recommendations. I've heard Big Bob Gibson's has some good BBQ.

Big Bobs is top notch! Their fully loaded potato is always awesome.

Also, Lawlers is a good one too.

My favorite is actually Lawlers. Nobody ever talks about it, but in my opinion it is the best I've had.

I have always like Dreamland. Big Bobs is very good as well. Gibson's loaded baked potato is the real deal.

Never tried Lawlers, heard it was pretty good though.

Man Big Bob's is great, but I know of a place that is even better they are just starting out and I tell you the ribs are mouth watering! Smokey C's in Decatur AL,. It's off of HWY 20.

All you do is go from HSV towards Decatur, soon as you cross the bridge hang a right on HWY20 and go down about 8 miles and they'll be on your right next to Jacks and a Texaco.

If you don't go you are missing out!

The family and I are plannning on driving over to Huntsville for a few days after Christmas. We will be coming from North Georgia. How far will Smokey C's be from the space center area?

It would probably take you about 20-25 minutes from the space and rocket center.

Thanks for heads up on the Smokey C's place. I plan on paying them a visit next time I'm home. I always enjoy a new BBQ place.

Dreamland BBQ is a good one. There's one on US 72 (University). Exact address is: 3855 University Drive Northwest, Huntsville, AL (256) 539-7427. My father-in-law came to visit and ended up taking back a gallon of their BBQ sauce with him.
