I live in Bartlett and have my garage at the house then I have a buddy who lives on the south side who has a garage also.

Him and I are try to get our names out and get a good customer base before we pull the trigger and rent a space.

I'm on the southwest side (Oak Lawn, 103rd and Cicero) - where is your buddy?

I'm not too far from bartlett. Thought about doing a "Mobile" shop? My neighbor had a guy by a few months ago that just had everything he needed set up in his van. Seems like you'd have a drastically lower overhead, but winter would suck.

I won't do mobile. It's impossible to do and have everything.

Do you have a line on used parts are is it all OEM? Local shop can get used parts to be a bit cheaper, but the labor is still pretty harsh. Need a rear differential on my Lincoln LS but they want $300 for the part and $300 for labor.

I can get new and used parts, whatever better fits you. A whole Diff can cost 100-300 used or just put a new gear set in for about the same price. It all depends.

Labor is all dependent to. To rebuild it, it could cost 300 or just to R&R the diff it could cost 150.

Though my labor rate is pretty damn cheap. So that can make up for a lot.
