Best pizza that is not a local, large chain

When I lived in DG I used to order from Dan's Pizza all the time and loved it. I'm not sure how you'd rate them against the chains, because my new favorite is Lou's and that's all I buy.

Jupiter's in downtown Champaign. Great thin crust pizza. Half-price Tuesday nights... I like the pizza pesto. I try to stop here every time I am in town. Juke box is pretty good also.

Cannova's in Freeport is has fantastic pizza. They have several special pizzas one with no sauce!

In Chicago, I like Pizza Capri - they have two restaurants, one in Hyde Park where I've eaten. I love their specialty pizzas, and their pastas are good too.

Al's pizza, on warrenville road a little past where it intersects batavia, its great and its a nice little bar too, my dad and i go there quite a bit

Pequods. Definitely have to try that caramelized/burnt crust once. Its not for everyone but if you like it you love it.
