Semi-new to the area, what is your favorite after work/ evening spot to grab a drink and hangout?

I'm from Lockport, but I get out and about quite a bit. I actually run a beer review blog (www.thebrewbros.com) so I have had my fair share of after-hours hang time. My absolute favorite joint for grabbing any variety of beer is Tribes Alehouse in Mokena. Visit their website at The Tribes Alehouse. They have an AMAZING selection of brews on tap and their food is to die for. I would really check them out, and no, I'm not affiliated in any way.

As for buying booze to bring home, I would check out Barley and Hops (Barley & Hops - Drink Something Different Tonight). They are a microbrew/homebrew shop that specialize in all of the best brews in the world. Two great great spots that I spend a lot of my own money at.

Sounds awesome, what's the atmosphere like at Tribes Alehouse?

buffalo wild wings has some decent food, huge bar, and more tvs than ive ever seen in my life, i love the atmosphere there, great place to hang out and watch the game, they have projectors at the bar so its about the size of a theater screen

Stonewood Alehouse in Schaumburg is a frequent haunt.

Any number of places in downtown Naperville if you're in the west burbs.

It's not quite in the Chicago are, but I like Poopy's in Savanna, Il when I'm in the area. It's a larger bike bar/restaurant that has a nice out door patio and band stage. They also have a store and tattoo parlor there. It's not a typical biker bar and there is pretty much something for everyone there.

The last place I went to was called Spoon. It's a pretty lively night spot, if that's what you're looking for?

Best Beer Joint - Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, they have 36 Beers on tap and no BMC, only fine Imports and craft brews.
