Flying Carp
Has anyone actually seen these yet? I've caught news stories, but I want to go out there and see them for myself. Where's a good place to go?

The best way to see them is by boat because the engine vibration brings them up. Anywere west of Starved Rock to LaSalle.
Wear a helmet and eye protection

Is the tournament a catch and kill to cut the population down? Never ate carp before, seems like awful eating.

I'm not sure if anyone eats them, but you aren't supposed to release them. They don't want them back in the river system.... invasive species you know.

haven't been to the tournament in Bath myself, but have friends who go every year... hear it's crazy...
had some carp jump in the canoe with us on the Sangamon river last summer...
they're attracted to the splashing from the oars i guess...
