Outdoor shooting in Northern Illinois

Shooting in IL in general is expensive. The Buffalo Range Shooting Park is decent if you only need to shoot a couple times a year. Pretty much, any "Sportsman's Club" is going to cost you an arm & a leg.

You guys should look into the Apleseed project ,they have rifle clinics all over , If you dont mind a drive the Illinois State Rifle ASSN has a great range by Mantino

If any of you are near Chillicothe, the Chillicothe Sportmans Club just north of town is a pretty good deal. $125 for a annual family membership 1st year and $85 per after that. 10 hours of work at club per year. They have 100-300 yard rifle ranges, trap, pistol ranges. They shoot 50ft indoor .22 in the winter in the basement of their clubhouse. Just Google Chillicothe Sportmans Club.

It's a little late, but you could look into Howell Shooting Club (Howell Shooting Club) in Yorkville. They are moving to Aurora Sportsmans Club, but I'm unsure if they are still accepting members. If you can get in, you could move into ASC at a discounted rate. If they are accepting members, you would need to get in this Sunday when they meet.
