Just wanted to start a thread for Southern Illinois. How about some ideas of good places to pick up a brew. Are there any micro breweries around?

I like the winetap in Belleville, IL. No homebrews exactly, but a decent brew selection and EPIC pizza.

You could always make the commute to Schlafly!!

Maryville has a winery, but I haven't heard of any micro brewery's ... Yeah, I'd just go over to Schlafly if you like their brew.

Lots of wineries in the Carbondale/Anna/Alto Pass area, not much for breweries, which is crazy for a college town. I heard Murphysboro had something like a brewpub.

Lots of Wineries, no brewpub yet! Great wine though, and some have a nice selection of craft beer.

there is a craft brewery from murphysboro called big muddy brewing, they're pretty new and have only a few types. they sell it in local liquor stores and a few bars around the area like the cellar in carbondale (cool place) and 17th street bar n grill in murphysboro.

Whatever happened to the Copper Dragon? It was a brewpub over by Pinch Penny Pub, I think there were tring to make it more of a huge club but they used to have like 5-6 brews. I'm sure there out of business, but never heard for sure.
