We so need someone who can run this state and do the right thing. To get out of the mess we are in, the state and its population is going to have to toughen up and not cry about some of the cuts that are going to have to happen to start moving in the right direction. I am leary of anyone who says they can balance the budget immediately - we didn't get here over night and we sure will not get out overnight either.

I live across the river from St. Louis and it's like we're almost more part of Missouri than Illinois ... I'm a Cardinals fan, a Blues fan and Just like watching football. lol. I would really like to know what is going on in Illinois, but the sad fact is, we don't get any real IL news down this way.

With respect to the OP, the real question is, does anyone in Cook or the collar counties KNOW there is anyone living in the other 101? They have come to disregard us- because they can.

I agree. Because most of the Illinois population is in Cook and the collar counties, that's where most of the attention is given. I live in DeKalb County and I prefer they city folk don't realize we exist.
