Schnitzel Platz Restaurant - Home Glendale Heights, near Lombard on North Ave, about 1 mile off 355

Great food and beer selection, and good prices.

+1 on Schnitzel Platz.
The Berghoff usually features a few items off their old menu. Their Sauerbraten is to die for!!!

The Bavarian Lodge in Lisle is another great place for traditional German food. And their beer selection (imports and American craft) is one of the best in the suburbs.

+2 to Shnitzel Platz - Hank and Bob are great musicians and you must try the Potato Pancakes, they are the best I have ever had, not some soggy potato mush like most places.

In Peoria IL. The haufbroug (spelling?) is a great place for German food. We usually go for lunch as they have 3 soups and bread all you can eat. It a great place to go especially on those 22 degree days.
