I've had a regular popup camper that we sold a few years ago because we didn't use it much when my son was very little. Last year I bought a 1968 Appleby tent/trailer camper. It has been great for overnights at 4x4 club events. Who else has a camper? What do you pull it with? I have pulled the Appleby behind my Tracker, Jeep Wrangler and Mitsu Montero Sport.
Had a 9.5' Coachman truck camper, sold it ,now have a 24' X102" enclosed cargo trailer. Its big enough to haul my jeep and camp in. Roof air and heat, 30amp,, dorm fridge, 16 gal. h2o, sleeps 4, cabinets in front, sink, grey water tank. The beds fold down.
ON EDIT: Pull it with A, "02" F-350 Power Stroke, crew cab, long bed, 4x4.Weight. Loaded and jeep in, 19,150# Took the whole thing to MOAB this spring, had a awesome time
I've got a co-op going with a buddy of mine. I let him borrow my grand cherokee to pull his pop-up a couple times a year, and in exchange, he lets me take the camper a few times.
My wife and kids and I go camping multiple times a year. This year, we bought a Coleman Canyon Ranch tent. It is about 19ft x 12ft and I LOVE IT. We have thought about buying a camper instead of tent camping, but I just can't bring myself to give up the tent yet.
Holy Guacamole!! My family and I used to camp quite a bit when I was a kid. Never could talk the wife into it. If she couldn't shower, plug in a blow dryer, curling iron, it wasn't happening. That's what I call camping in style. That Coachman sure is a beauty but do you ever pass up a gas station?
