There's also the Amish and Menanite communities way out in the boonies. I love driving through there; although, I don't get to do it very much. I love farm land. Reminds me of when I was growing up... minus the hills/mountains of southwest Virginia.

Lotta corn, lotta beans, I live a few miles from a swine farm (and NO you can not smell it) I know some Amish, sometimes I shop at an Amish store (some of the nicest people you will ever meet)

I really couldn't pick a better place to live, get the peace and quite of living in a small town, but I'm 25 miles from Richmond so if I get board there's always something to do.

If you can't smell the swine farm--you're up wind!!

La Porte County Historical Museum has one of the largest firearms collections in the country, and a neat assortment of cars including a Tucker.

Great farm land drives all over the state!!

Brown county state park is pretty in the fall. Also, the friendship black powder matches and flea market can't be missed.

One good reason to visit Indiana...this one is easy. The greatest specticle in racing. Everyone must see the Indy 500 once in their life. Come for Carb Day on Friday before memorial day. It is a great party. Stay for the weekend and the race on Sunday, you wont regret it.

All of these are pretty good things, I have enjoyed seeing the indianapolis motor speedway when there is not a race going on..you get a good feel for how big it really is.

Surprisingly, Indiana has great mountain biking trails. Check HMBA.org for a list of the trails.

things to do in Indiana

Well you can do to deer park and pet deer. You can visit Amish acres and eat some good Amish food, you can go to the Studebaker museum in South Bend or even tour the University of Notre Dame they have a great church that is in the gothic style and painted on the inside like the Sistine Chapel. I can go on and on but that's what comes to mind right away, ohh and this is all in the northern part of Indiana

Ohh! I almost forgot You should come and see the college football hall of fame before they move it to GA. they plan on moving it in 2012 so make sure that's a stop as well it's in South Bend too
