@sm007thie

It is interesting that you equate the economic problems in the IE with the Right. Do you have any statistics that you would like to sight? Perhaps, if we didn't have people on the Right you could have gotten your home for a quarter its previous value instead of half. Fortunately, we do have some examples of bureaucracies almost completely run by the left. Take the California Public School system. See, I knew there was something that we could agree on. The left has had just about free reign with public education and as you so eloquently put it, it is at best horrible. I don't expect you to see that, because one of the things that the State schools do exceedingly well is produce new generations of "ridiculously fanatical" leftist "zealots." It is funny that a group of people so obsessed with fairness and political correctness are some of the most aggressive bigots I know. Your post was the first on this thread to attack the other side in a demeaning and condescending way that reeks with the arrogance and intolerance of those who find their particular stance to be morally and intellectually superior.

I'm mostly a socialist liberal, except when it comes to capital punishment. I do however, believe that both parties are inherently corrupt and getting worse by the day. To become involved in politics, these days, you must be certifiably crazy because you cannot do so and maintain your honor. It has been most of my lifetime, and I'm not young, that you actually voted for someone good - it's always the lesser evil.

Conservative Libertarian. I think we should all be allowed to do what we want, I just wish we would choose to be more conservative in our actions. Thus limiting even the idea that we need government to step in and run our lives.

So, you think you know where you stand, politically. The results from this short test may surprise you and give you some food for thought.

You'll be asked just 10 questions, and then it instantly tells you where you stand politically. It shows your position as a red dot on a "political map" so you'll see exactly where you score.

The most interesting thing about the Quiz is that it goes beyond the Democrat, Republican, and Independent.

The Quiz has gotten a lot of praise. The Washington Post said it has "gained respect as a valid measure of a person's political leanings." The Fraser Institute said it's "a fast, fun, and accurate assessment of a person's overall political views." Suite University said it is the "most concise and accurate political quiz out there."

No surprises, scored an 80/80 for both areas and am officially branded a libertarian.

Scored an 80/20

Liberal. Socialism in that sense is a bit different than a pure liberal and deals differently with social issues not discussed there.

People should be paid their worth and everyone is worth something. But no one should earn more than they can reasonably spend in a lifetime or two, after all, you do not reincarnate to your own descendent.
