Spring and Fall are particularly beautiful here, Summer is an excellent time, if you don't mind the heat. Driving Kansas topless, the Jeep not you, is great.

There's the Garden of Eden in Lucas, KS, the Air and Space museum in Liberal, and a nice one in Wichita, Lawrence has all sorts of things to do, and Kansas City has a growing arts community and food worth driving for.

Two things that I remember from when I was a kid in Kansas....Pawnee Rock with names, dates, and grafitti carved by the pioneers. Fort Larned which was an Army fort during the Indian fighting days.

Why visit Kansas?

Kansas is home to some of the world?s best upland game hunting.
Deer hunting, our state is at the top of world?s leader board on trophy bucks.
We are the highest producer of Wheat that feeds the world.
And of course we have the best city in the US, Salina!
Come to the heartland and see the people who want to be your friend.
Make up your own mind, I bet you will want to come back!

I'm a hermit by heart, so I'd say, "no, I can't give you a good reason to visit, so please don't". LOL! It really is a great state though. Very friendly people, hard working people, and a general honest approach to life. These folks don't sit around and wait for others to do for them, they get up and make stuff happen.

Hunting and fishing are awesome! Seasons are reasonable without too much extreme. And a whole bunch of history. Did I mention the quality of people?

You should definitely drive into the heartland of the State. I live in Great Bend Kansas. There are two major bird migratory areas. One is Cheyenne Bottoms. They other is Quivera. Both are withn ten minutes of our little town. Come the scenic route through the Smokey hills. You won't have to worry about traffic.

Because we need your tax dollars!

Kansas taxes the crap out of us with sales tax of 9%+ in most cities, outrageous personal property tax on land, homes, vehicles and recreational vehicles ...

Having 105 counties to serve less than 3 million people we are taxed and governed to death!

Come on Down!
