Watering Hole

What's your favorite? Mine is Flying Saucer. Excellent beer, friendly staff, good food.

I dont get much of a chance to be out in the KC area, but I might have to give that place a shot.

I like 75th street brewery or yard house, though the latter is stupid expensive for beer in particular.

Wife and I like Johnny's Tavern for the on-screen trivia. But we do want to find a pub in the Overland Park area that has a large selection of beers. She is suddenly interested in experimenting with new beer types. Very exciting, since she used to be a bud light lover.

Hmm, seems we need some City Profiles v. just Kansas as a Profile. I'd like to see something separate for KC, Topeka, Manhattan, Salina, Hays, and Wichita. Lawrence too?

For Wichita watering holes, I'd say there are a few, there's a guy named Dave who runs several bars with Irish sounding names. O'Brien's, Mulligan's, Kelly's, and one other that slips my mind. At any rate, you can go basically every day of the week to one of his establishments and enjoy 1/2 price drinks.

75th street is fun, but does anyone know about a place in south KC on the KS side?

I like Flying Saucer, except its technically in MO. I like the Barleys off 435-W. Love Free State and 23rd St. in Lawrence. LABCO in Manhattan is okay. I really want to try Gella's/Liquid Bread out in Hays.

There is a bar & grill on 95th and Lackman. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, but it sits in a strip mall next to the QT. Great food and decent beer selection. HUGE OU bar though, but I try not to hold that against them

I love the food and beer at 23rd St Brewery here in Lawrence. The Bill Self is my favorite dish there. It's some awesome shells-n-cheese with buffalo chicken strips on top. Tasty and a huge portion.
