When we watch "CSI", they often have coats on. I thought it was warm down there. What gives?

Desert can be very cold at night and when the smog from LA drifts over it takes some time to warm up (maybe)

It's freakin' hot here in the summer, but can get cold enough for snow in the winter. We rarely get snow, tho.

Yeah, and I guess once you adapt to that heat, it feels pretty cold when it gets cooler. I should have thought of that!

We came down last Feb. and camped over by Lake Mead for a week or so. Hadn't been to Vegas since the early 80s. It was a shock to see how much it had grown.

Thinking we might bring the camper and stay a couple months this time, after Christmas. Nice to know there's a source (you!) of answers if we have more questions. Or should I say, "real" questions!

What is up with the streets that dead end and then pick back up 4 miles away?! There could be 6 parts to the same street but they dont join up. Its stupid.

hey Josh, i know i hate that stuff. being a local truck driver here is not fun some times...

there is also no street that goes from one end of town to the other in a straight line...

oh lets make it better, on the south end of town where Las Vegas and Henderson meet you get really screwed up. (ie) 2500 east warmsprings las vegas is one step away from 3500 west warmsprings henderson... (now i used these number as an example) but you get my point.

Are there any places to get decent locally grown produce? I haven't been able to find a decent farmers market anywhere.

GrumpyPine, not sure about a lot but the Gilcreace orcher, it out on North Teneya way. i haven't been out there in a long time so i'm not sure what they have.
