I've heard the same mixed reviews about them.
5 Guys doesn't have whatever it is that makes In and Out burgers taste unique.
Given a choice of 5 guys or ANY other burger joint, 5 Guys would only win if the wait was excessive at the other places, or if I wanted to munch on peanuts

A friend went to the Fathers Office in Santa Monica. Said they weren't bad, but they don't make them to order (don't like cheese? too bad!) and are very expensive...

The Ranch (in ? westlake Village??) is very good, but also pricey, and there are barely seven tables...

Where is this Laurels you speak of?

Can't beat it. The rest of the country talks about White Castle and having tried it, it does not compare.

My 7 yr old son has started choosing In-N-Out over McDonald's when given the choice on where to go out to eat. I'm so proud of him.

I have asked them to cook mine well done and they did just that. Try them animal style no spread. Animal style is grilled onions and melted cheese on top. The spread (thousand island) I can live without.

Their food is ok, but it must be eaten within 5 min of getting your order. These burgers and fries do not travel well, so plan on dinning "in" and eating it fast while it is very hot.
