lots

We pretty much have a party for everything. from huge and decadent like Mardi G to small like small town festivals for anything and nothing at all. Then theres the food if your not scared If you off-road, hunt, fish, drink, eat, sleep or gamble. From sophisticated to redneck its all here except for mountains.

Id say come down during Mardi Gras. That seems to be the most fun time. Go to New Orleans then, and you will have a blast. Unless you arent into drinking and partying. Then I would suggest to come down to New Orleans on a different date.

If you like college football with a party atmosphere, come during the fall to a LSU home game. The stadium is amazing and the tailgating is surely something to see. Get there early on Saturday, even for a night game, as there is that much to walk around and see. Many of the locals get out Friday afternoon to prepare. It is that large of an event.

Go here: LSUsports.net - The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics

Check the football schedule and make sure you visit for an LSU home game. Arrive Thursday or Friday in New Orleans. Stay in or near the French Quarter. Party on Bourbon Street. Make sure you have dinner at Pascal's Menali on Napoleon(near Tulane). Order the BBQ shrimp...wear a bib.

On Saturday morning, drive up to Baton Rouge and walk around campus. You will be given food, beer, and plenty of "tigah-bait" if you wear another school's colors.

I would have to agree with everyone on here. LSU and Saints football games are some of the best in the country, and Mardi Gras is the most unique(and Fun ) event you'll ever go to!

Swamp tours, plantations, almost 300 years of history, food, festivals, music, and most of all character. you won't be disappointed with a trip to Louisiana.

On and you "got your shoes on your feet." You'll know when you'll need this information, if you go to the French Quater anyway.

Skipping New Orleans would be like skipping Mt. Rushmore. New Orleans is such a key part of U.S. culture and history it has to be visited. Have coffee and beignets at Cafe du'Monde, have some zydeque at the Cajun Cabin (dont forget the red beans and rice), have a hurricane at Pat 0'Brians, and oysters at the Acme Oyster house. Finish up the night with a tour of Bourbon Street on a carriage ride, or take a Haunted New Orleans tour. That is just New Orleans. Travel out and take a Swamp Tour, fish in the Gulf. For a sobriety check make sure you drive through the 9th Ward and see the distruction that mother nature and liberal politics can create.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans and the surrounding area is a lot of fun, and you will have a blast, but for something REALLY different, try one of the rural Mardi Gras celebrations in Mamou, Church Point, Eunice or several other small towns in South Central and Southwest Louisiana.

I can promise you, you've never seen anything like it. Not a parade like they have in New Orleans, it's a bunch of inebriated Cajuns galloping on horseback and riding on wagons through the countryside, begging for ingredients for a large community gumbo at the end of the day.

Unique, to say the least.

Looking for a reason to come to Louisiana? Well, here are several....

New Orleans: eat at Willie Maes Scotch House (as seen on Food Network and Travel Channel), walk the French Quarter, Tour the Garden District and see soem amazing Architecture, then top the night of on Frenchman Street. That's right, not Bourbon, unless you dig drunk people and strippers. IF you like REAL old school jazz, hit up the Spotted Cat or Maison on Frenchman Street

Shreveport/Bossier City: welcome to the Red River Revel and home of the Louisiana State Fair as well as Hollywood South. This area is home to Barksdale Air Force Base & Musuem, home of 8th Air Force Wing and the Global Strike Command. Grab a bite to eat at local favorite Kirby's and grab some award winning Strawberry pie at Stawns Eat Shop. Visit Sci-Port, a children's place of fun with Science. Into retro movies, stop by the Robinson Film Center

St. Francisville: Home to some of Louisiana's most beautiful Plantation Homes. A must stop and see.
