Panning for Gold In Maine

Have you panned for gold in Maine, What was your experience? Did you find gold? Have fun? or was it back aching and frustrating?

Hello, yes I have panned on the Swift River near Cooz Canyon. I had a blast. I usually find a few pieces of placer gold. It takes a lot of time and effort, but if you are patient you will find some. I don't think you'll get rich panning here in Maine, but if you enjoy being out in nature you should have a good time. And at the end of the day that is really all that matters. Good luck!

I use to live in Maine for a long time, and never knew there was gold to mine. Must be up north, above Moosehead lake region.
