I've been to the Purple Cow just outside of Skeohegan! Really good, with low prices.
Its on Route 201 towards Jackman!

You've got to check out the A1 Diner in Gardiner. It's awesome, an authentic little 60's diner. The last time I was in, it was being run by a rather large individual. He was participating in a strong man competition that weekend. Real colorful character and the ambiance only added to my enjoyment of the grown-up-grilled cheese I was eating. I highly recommend!

I'm a fan of A-1 diner in Gardiner (south of Augusta). They use food grown by local farmers, but still a good greasy spoon.
