I was talking about going up there for 2 years until I finally went, its going to be at least a 1-2 times a year trip for me, 7-8 hours from where I live depending on if I stop at my cousins in Sterling Heights first. You'll love it!

A cottage of my uncle's friend and eventually his cottage once its built. I want to buy land up there in several years and build my own cottage even though I live 7 hours away.

I have a few friends that make regular trips to Silver Lake and I'm looking forward to joining them some time.

I haven't been to SilverLake, will my stock wrangler be fine? Besides of course lowering the pressure in the tires. Anybody know a place to go in the winter?

Your wrangler should be good. I recommend going I had a blast this summer. My friend not so much after his Wagoneer broke down

I went a few year back and it was awesome. I took my 2000 Chevy Tahoe to the Dunes. It was a blast. Did some damage to the vehicle but didn't care.
