Ya, be prepared that you may break something. I was lucky I think, I got airborne several times and didn't break anything(on the dunes that is, I did lose a tie rod adjuster bolt but my uncle caught it before it came apart). I was using my daily driver ZJ and was 7 hours from home haha. I made sure I packed a large tool box.

Took my wifes Grand Cherokee out there and had a blast, of course the day before we were trail riding.

Kids had a great time as they got to go find shells on the beach.

I don't think I've ever had a bad time at Silver Lake!

It's not fun in the rain. The sand gets hard and packed down/ BUMPY!

Done the lake on a quad, in a truck, and in my Jeep. Best time I had was on my modded Banshee with paddles. The TJ was fun too. That trip I had a friend there in a '79 Ford crew cab. It was fun driving circles around him in 2wd! If you can find the mud pit between the chain of test hills and the beach it's a nice change of pace as well.
