Winter 2011

OK this one has been a hard one in the way of snow.

But what most have forgotten is the snow falls of past.

When I was a kid I can remember every snow fall seemed to have 6-8" attached to it.

Now for years we havn't seen anything like this in the thumb area till now.

Who all remembers the winters of the past?

I live in the UP and when I was a kid you could dig tunnels in the snow in our yard and that wasn't piled up or shoveled. The past few years a mouse would have a hard time tunneling in the snow we have. All the storms the past few years have been south of us.

Most of it has been South of us here in the Ludington area as well. We've only gotten 70" or so. Easy winter snow wise so far.

I live by Lake Michigan so we get a ton of lake effect snow but this winter has been a heavy one. I love the snow though so I enjoyed it.

First year I moved to Traverse City (2008) we hit a new record for snowfall. The last two years have been average from what I understand. I lived near here growing up and I remember heavier winters more often so I'd have to agree...
