Vacation with the kids

I am looking for ideas of someplace close to Jackson MS to take the family on a little vacation during spring break. Any kid friendly ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Try looking into Vicksburg. It's about an hour from Jackson (to the west on I-20). My wife and I (who live in Jackson, MS) just spent our anniversary over there. We stayed in an old plantation mansion. They give you a tour of it during the day. It's really neat, there were still cannon balls lodge in some of the walls from the civil war days!
