I agree that Lake of the Ozarks has gotten way too commercial and tourist-y. You can barely get through Osage Beach without running into about a hundred shops wanting to sell you pocket knives, walnut bowls, or moccasins!

I try to make it down to the Ozarks when I can. it's always a blast when I go. It's nice to have a variety of things to do down there.

My best friends folks have a house on the lake in Osage Beach. It's a blast to hang out there. The lake and the night life are pretty good.

I'm around LOZ yearly for bass tournaments. Will be there in April this year at the Alhonna resort.

I think Linn Creek is my favorite area though

I Have a house over on the Sleepy Side (Gravois Mills) when not doing my Army thing, best place to relax (Unless it is peak tourist season) great 4 X 4 ing as well. It is just a damn shame all of the condo's that are going in around such a beautiful lake.
