Where is that located in relation to lets say Bass Pro? I've made the drive to Springfield many times to hit some of the sales there, but never thought about visiting the battlefields. I'll have to make a point of doing that on my next trip down there.

If you are into authentic Italian cuisine, you will find a whole lot more than just toasted Ravioli. Pay a visit to "The Hill" area and come hungry. You won't be disappointed.

I also agree -- Ted Drews is THE place to be if you want a nice cool treat! And you can say you got your kicks on Route 66!

Is that the place where they THROW the rolls at you?
I haven't been there myself yet, but I've heard the food is pretty dog-gone good. Can someone confirm or deny?

BBQ, the Ozarks, great college towns (assuming taking 70 across the states - including Kansas - because you can see Lawrence as well as Columbia), good weather for a lot of the year allowing a lot of outdoor time.

Lake of the Ozarks and alcohol, two reasons why I went (and why I ended up leaving).

KC has some of the country's best BBQ, and houses the national WWI museum.

Well for starters we have two cities that define a style of cooking you do not wanna miss
St Louis style Pizza
Kansas City B-B-Q
Those two alone make it worth it but then we have some of the most beautiful countryside you will ever see and trust me the chance to visit it is not to be missed. We have many historical landmarks from our country's history such as the Arch and more.
