A few months back, our local Subway cut the size of the bun for their sandwiches in about half. Did they do that everywhere? It's the same length, but only about half as thick, so it won't hold much.
At our local subway, the last few times I went in, they were so stingy with the meat, that I asked them to please put more on. They did but it was so little that I found another outfit to eat at.
Our town is around 4,000. This new sub outfit opened up and is doing well! My wife always bought a certain sandwich at another fast food chain that has golden arches and she stopped buying there when they downsized their food too. Classic examples of more $ for less!
Last week I was looking for cheap diet coke and found 12 packs reasonably priced. It was coke but packaged in (special for Walmart?) generic red cans marked "Coke". I started to take one but noticed how light it felt. The cans are no longer 12 ounces but more like 8 or 10.
Diet Shasta Cola tastes just like Diet Coke at half the price but it's scarce lately.

Then you have this......... Attention Ice Cream Lovers: The evil entity wielding the grocery shrink ray has pointed its malevolent device at Ice Cream. The standard jug of ice cream is now 1.5 quarts, down from an already-shrunken 1.75. The price, naturally, is exactly the same.
Will the grocery shrink ray ever stop? Or will our generation tell our wide-eyed grandchildren stories of the halcyon days of half gallon ice cream containers? Will they even believe us?
