I prefer Dewey's - there's one in UCity and another in Kirkwood - damn fine pizza.
I'll even do Dewey's on my own dime. Dewey's is a family favorite, we get to the Ellisville location a few times a year.

Harpo's in Chesterfield now has Shakespeare Pizza as well (Shakespeare's is out of Columbia at Mizzou). Also, Black Thorn down in South City has the closest thing in St. Louis to authentic Chicago style pizza. So good.

I've been to Shakespeare's in Columbia and have seen them frozen in a few stores, most recently Global Foods in Kirkwood. Do you think Harpo's is just baking the frozen pies? or are they making them fresh?

Done the Black Thorn, it helps to go with somebody who has been there before or you may not get any pizza... It wasn't bad... but I think I can find a better Chicago Deep Dish. I have a couple joints to try.

Montebellos

This place has been around for over 50 years. It's in the basement of an old house in Lemay but it is by far the best thin crust "St. Louis" style pizza ever.
