This is one of my fav versions, and yeah, it's been around Mexico and So AZ for years and years. Bud & Travis covered it in the late 50's. I love this song and it was my dad's fav too. I posted this up before but it's worth the revisit. The song Malaguena comes from Espana and Malaguena Salerosa from Mexico from what I understand.

There seems to be confusion and argument over who wrote Malaguena. The father of these guys, Celedonio Romero, they claim is the composer of this timeless classic for their mother who is Malaguena (from Malaga Spain) at the age of 15 yrs.

For other songs of the same / similar title, see Malague?a.

Not to be confused with Malague?a Salerosa, a Mexican song.

Originally the sixth movement of the Suite Andalucia by Ernesto Lecuona, who also provided it with Spanish lyrics, the song "Malague?a" has since become a popular, jazz, marching band, and drum corps standard and has been provided with lyrics in several languages.
