OMG I LOVE Carlos Montoya. When I was a young boy, I had an older bro who would sit countless HOURS in front of our little record player with his guitar trying to decypher each tune by playing a small part OVER AND OVER again attemping to duplicate as he went. Although he, (my Bro) is an excellant guitarrist, he has yet, even all these years later, to perfect Carlos's techniques.
C.M. played the Flemenco guitar while Adres Segovia played Spanish Classical
and yes, there is a difference, simular to calling country bluegrass, yeah they're sort of related but have morphydised simular to the way the languages have changed. A more recent example of coarse being Rock n Roll, Jazz etc.
Carlos Montoya has influenced so many people, Paco de Lucia, Juan Martin, Strunz & Farah, and the list goes on and on while Segovia was, well, there is "professional grade" then "world class" and above those there, in their prospective fields, are these guys, Segovia was a rare breed all his own in the realm of the classical guitar.
Thanks for posting these excellent examples of greatness.
