Legalizing Casual Marijuana

President Obama needs to take note. Already legal to casually smoke in Colorado and my home state of Washington, after the latest elections, this could be a profit windfall for helping to get Americas national debt under control. America is getting sick of the Christian right telling us what we can and cannot do, to entertain ourselves. What's your thoughts on the matter.

Now, you may be shocked.... But I do believe that the war on drugs is a failure. I also think that alcohol is likely more dangerous to ones health, behavior, and family structure than pot. So, I do understand some of the reasoning for decriminalizeng the use of marijuana. I don't think I would lobby for such a thing though. I don't think I would fight it either. As much of a failure the war on drugs is, there are many drugs out there we cannot afford to legalize. Meth, heroin, crack cocain, just to name a few. I have seen too many people get sucked up into some of those and basically become an empty shell only dedicated to feeding their addiction. I have never seen pot do that.

This is the only thing we agree on.

I am all for legalizing and restricting pot.

1. Need to be 21 to purchas and use.
2. Needs to be a 50% tax on all pot.
3. Same rules should apply as with alcohol to driving.
4. No use in public.

Legalize it all the way.

totally agree, moreso #4, I dont want to smell that stinky crap.
I dont even hang around people that smoke cig let alone pot.

There was a news story yesterday, and companies that will still not hire people that test pos. for pot (here in Co.) cause its still against the federal law, and companies that deal with the government cant, hire anyone, that has tested positive.

IMO, the 50% tax mentioned is excessive. I think it should be treated the same as alcohol or tobacco. Whatever "sin" taxes are attached to those should also apply to marijuana.

Basically, treat it the same as alcohol for its intoxicating effects and the same as tobacco for its noxious effects.
