Red light cameras ... Another tax ...

Red light cameras suck for sure but as a result of cameras traffic accidents have been on the decline . Politicians say its about saving lives and not profit .. I say B S..... Then take the profit out of it .
First of all red - green lights are traffic control signals ... Why must the lawmakers go right to the $$$ incentive to control accidents at intersections .... Why not try to control traffic but making a longer yellow light .... or have solid red for all before green appears . There are various ways to change the timing of the signals to save lives . Why must they go to a stiff fine ...because its about the $$$ . These companies that install the cameras are making hefty profits off us working stiffs . Next cameras to control our speed , seat belts .. Where does it end ??

I was reading a story of a lawyer getting a ticket for 38 in a 25. He got a tape of the infraction. It clearly showed his car sitting still at an intersection at the exact time it said he was speeding. The tickets and video were all reviewed by an officer before being sent out. Most people who get these tickets would not have access to the tapes. It's all about the money.
A woman in KC got a ticket for running a red light. The video clearly showed that she was in a funeral procession and cross traffic was being blocked by police officers. They still refused to pull the ticket.
