The Job Market in New Hampshire

I lived in Litchfield as a kid, and my wife and I are thinking about moving back to the Nashua area to settle down. How is the tech job market in that area? Do most people end up commuting to Massachusetts?

Depends on the type of tech. I know that the company Single Digits up in Manchester (they do network support for the hospitality industry) is growing faster than they can get warm bodies. Not sure about anything else, though.

the engineering job market is pretty bad, construction is worse....accounting-types do well, computer geek jobs are definitely hit-and-miss...

your best bet is to live in southern NH and work as far north in Mass as you can.

It is had to find a good paying Job in NH.

There is a little tech sector in Lebanon, NH. Mostly bio-tech, but some aerospace. Lots of little engineering start ups.

The Highway Department is in the process of widening I-93 to 4 lanes from Manchester to the Mass.border, so the commute to Mass. for work will be better.

I'm in the IT field and live in NH but my jobs for the past several years have all been in Mass. That isnt to say there aren't IT jobs in NH, it's just that once you get into the higher end of IT the jobs are much harder to find than in the Boston area. Lower end to Mid level IT jobs are pretty easy to find though.

What part of IT are you looking to work in? I know a lot of IT recruiters and can help you get in touch to see what is available.
