what is there to do around Clarement, NH

We are heading up to Claremont the first of April. We will be there for 4 months. Please give suggestions on what to do, where to eat, fairs, ect.

BJ Brickers is VERY good, and very reasonably priced. KILLER prime rib.
As to anyhting else.....bring gas money. There is next to nothing to do in Claremont. Near enough to Sunapee though, lake and mountain. The only reason I go to Claremont is because they have a super walmart. Our is a plain old one in Lebanon.

I can't remember the name of the place, but there's one on the top of the hill on Bradford Road, Newport, NH (30 min)

3) Mount Sunapee State Park: beach, hiking, chairlift rides to the top of Mt Sunapee (30 min)

4) Hike Mount Kearsarge (1 hr)

5) Hike Monadnock Mountain (1 1/2 hr)

6) Ride a train - The White Mountain Flyer from White River Jct, Vt (30 min)
Green Mountain Railroad - Trains Around Vermont

7) Montshire Museum (40 min)
Montshire Museum of Science, a Vermont Science Center in Norwich, VT with Interactive Science Exhibits and an Outdoor Science Park

8) Mount Washington - a MUST (3 hrs)

9) Boston (2 1/2 hrs)

And I think that Newport has music on the green (near the traffic circle) on Saturday nights, maybe farmers markets during the day...
