Hi, sorry I didnt' see your question before. I only started my hops in pots, once we were past frost I transplanted into the ground. They were about 6" - 12" at that time. They are still in the ground now, but I'll be moving in March so I'll be transplanting them again. Wish me luck!!

Also, I'm not a WHALES member but I've been to one or two of their meetings and they seem like real friendly people. I also like that there is some structure to their meetings.

Been brewing for a bit over a year now. I try to always use just grain but have to mix in some DME since only so much fits in my pot.

Santa brought me ingredients for a blueberry wheat

and I?m going to retire the picnic tap and ordering the parts to put a tap in the beer fridge door that way I don?t have to waste the energy of opening the door all the time to get a beer

It's not a lot of work.
Some folks get deeply involved in the technical side, but you don't have to.
It can be as involved or not as you please.

For example I never use a hydrometer any more. Don't need it.
