Home improvements in NJ

Looking to finish off part of my basement the big question is how bad is the NJ permitting and inspection ? just moved to NJ and figure if it?s like everything else I?m screwed !!
Was going to use rigid insolated panels (2? rigid insulation with OSB glued to it) for floor and walls and just two stud walls, I will add fire blocking/insulation in between the floor joist, do I need to pull a permit and have it inspected for just that ?

That mainly depends on your town. Here in Hamilton permits are notoriously a pain. I'm not certain about Flemington. Ask your new neighbors what their experiences were.

Welcom to NJ... you need a permit for everything....soon you'll need a permit to walk on the streets...
