There's a reason why it's called, "The Garden State."
The Cowtown Rodeo is the longest running regular Saturday night rodeo in the US.

Welcome to Cowtown Rodeo!

I see more deer and drive on more dirt roads in NJ than I saw and drove on in the 4 years I lived in Vermont.

Find a way to get past your dissatisfaction and seek out the things you are missing. Spend a Sunday riding your bike on the back roads of Pottersville, Gladstone, Peapack, and Bernardsville. Isn't the Hunterdon County Hot Air Balloonfest coming up? You won't be disappointed.

Even Perth Amboy (along the water) is not without its charm.

Northern Jersey, Randolph here,

We do some atv riding in the Hopatcong area, we used to in Rockaway by Green Pond but then the police and parks service started patroling on 4x4's using pretty officers to pretend they had flat tires on the trails. When guys would stop to help they would confiscate the vehicles. It seemed like entrapment.

Actually growing up in West Orange, we had a ton of trails in the wood to ride from. But that town decide to sell out most of the woods to condo developers, you should see how many are in that town. I can think of at least 5 places that were once dirt bike trails that now have condo deveolpments on where I used to ride.

Take a ride out through the covered bridge to Rosemont, you may change your mind.

I grew up in Bridgewater. 50 years ago some would have called that country.
