Anyone ever visit Truth or Consequences? Fun lake (Elephant butte) and I used to live there when I was young.

Very cool lake! I do a lot of fishing there. I do not know how long it has been since you have been, but the water levels have dropped quite considerably. I believe the lake is only 25 percent full! The water does not even reach the butte anymore. Non the less it is such a massive lake, there is still plenty to do.

Love that lake, I grew up going there every weekend. The water level has dropped ALOT. I don't think we'll ever see it up to the level it once was

I have a 30' CArver Aft cabin I kept at MArina Del Sur until this year. I had to pull it out because of the expense.

The same guy bought all three marinas and then the moorage fees sky rocketed.

I spent many a night on the lake.

Elephant Butte use to be a huge lake, the level has changed so much

I remember fishing there as a kid. I just recently did some Walleye fishing on the Rio Grande by Caballo. Caught a decent sized fish. I didn't know the Rio grande even had walleye in it.

Even though the lake level has been low for quite a few years, don't let that make you think its small. It is still a pretty big lake.

Elephant Butte lake is almost big enough to go canoeing in.

Highly recommend you eat at Los Arcos steakhouse.
Very very good stakehouse, rated highly.

They're open for dinner hours only, and are priced pretty well for a high end steakhouse.

I love the green chile chicken chowder, and the ribs are tender, fall off the bone, and the sauce is sweet, with a hint of orange.
