blue ridge parkway has lots of areas to stop and hike. you can also dive in the sub zero waters that come from the mountains if you so desire.

Linville Falls and Gorge are two of the most spectacular views in the south east, and both are easily accessible on easy to moderate hiking trails.

Here is a few, Outer Banks, Uwarrie Nat. Forest, Panthers(even though they aint doing to hot) Morehead City/Atlantic Beach.

Wilson's Creek Wildlife area. Plenty of hiking trails, waterfalls, Wilson's Creek swift water and very popular kayaking, good fishing. Many primitive camping spots. All roads are pretty rough, best traveled with 4 wheel vehicle. A lot of wildlife. Great place to just get lost for the weekend.
