Just visited Bismarck

love the town, if I needed to go anywhere it was within 10 minutes away. Seems very family friendly and quiet enough. Considering relocating, anyone from the area?

i am up in Minot (100 miles north). i do frequently visit bismark though. really nice town. are you fimilliar with the rest of North Dakota?

Not as familiar as I'd like to be. I've visited a hand-full of times but not enough to know where I would move, hands down. Tell me about Minot?

minot is a a medium sized town about 100 miles due north of bismark. very clean, almost no crime ( i think i have locked my house door twice since i've lived here) very clean. the main industries here are the Air Force base, oil, and wind energy. there is also a good sized college, Minot State University. everyone is really friendly, and there sees to be no shortage of work. (i havent seen a homless person yet).

That sounds near ideal, I will try to gather more info then make a trip to visit.

How are the elementary schools? I have 2 young children so that's a main necessity for our move.

i wish i could provide some insight on the elementary schools, but i dont have kids (yet). i have heard good things, but thats second hand info. im pretty sure the state as a whole is rated fairly well education wise.
