Christmas trees . . .

Just got home from the local tree farm. Got this year's Christmas tree already. This year will be a late Christmas as we have a little one with "visitation" so when he's not gonna be here, we adjust. We're flexible.
We have reservations for cabins in the mountains and plan to leave the tree there as a donation to the park, (BTW, it's live).

What do you do for a tree?

I don't bother. I did try a small Norfolk pine I had in a pot and while it looked nice in an apartment I had difficulty keeping it warm or moist enough.

We don't do a live tree because a seven or eight foot live one is just not feasible. We usually buy our tree from Sun Youth, which is a local charity run by volunteers that helps the homeless and the destitute.

Local Christmas tree farms donate trees that are not perfect enough to make it onto the standard tree lots to Sun Youth, and they sell them for whatever they can get for them. We usually drop off a care package for them while we buy the tree as well.

We kind of like having a bit of a Charlie Brown tree, and then making look even nicer than a perfect tree

We have a 9' artificial tree. About the only thing i do with it every year is a stop motion assembly.

Edit: The decorated one was from 2009.

We do plastic, it's difficult to clean up after live trees.

We got a fake tree. We will be spending most of Christmas away from home and besides my dogs like to eat real trees.

So I got a 4 foot green tree with fake snow on it with lights. It's rather nice looking.

Ours, I might add, will only go up for a day or two. We usually have a plastic one but thought it'ld be nice to donate to the park a real on. It's outside now

I don't know how anyone can live without the scent of fresh pine in their house at Christmas.

Cleaning up is a piece of cake when we're done with the tree. We just cut all the branches off the tree and toss them in a hefty bag, and then we haul the bare stem and bag of branches into the woods behind our house. Empty bag and that's that.

In the summer we end up using it for kindling in the fire pit.
