Wild pig in attack of Lake Havasu man didn't have rabies

LAKE HAVASU CITY -- A wild pig that attacked a man in western Arizona last month has tested negative for rabies. A wildlife manager with the Arizona Game and Fish Department says the state health department released its findings Thursday.

The man was gored Sept. 25 in the Lake Havasu City-area. The pig was eventually captured and euthanized.

Wildlife officials told the Today's News-Herald (Today's News-Herald - Serving Lake Havasu City & The Lower Colorado River Area) the investigation determined the animal was provoked after the victim touched the pig on its hindquarters resulting in the pig turning around and attacking.
