The one with the gun is not a parenting fail, they are clearly in the south where that is not only expected, it's mandatory.
I agree, there's nothing wrong with teaching someone gun safety, better than not teaching them and they getting ahold of it. Grandaddy bought me my first shotgun when I was 8 or, If I did all the chores in the house that week he'd go out and get me a box of shells and we'd go pigeon hunting in the woods.
I agree totally, but I'm hoping the picture emphasizes the need for shooting glasses (and hearing protection as well), because that little one is possibly going to have a hot shell ejected into her face. Been there, done that, not fun!
