Taft California just celebrated it 100th year with a huge party, Oildorado. If you missed this party, don't worry, Oildorado is held every 5 years and you can still visit Taft anytime.
Taft is a small town in West Kern County, the gateway to the Carrizo Plain.
Taft, an oil industry town, is home to Lakeview Gusher Number 1 which flowed uncapped for 18 months and produced over 8 million barrels of oil. Learn all about Taft's oil history at the West Kern Oil Museum.
Taft also has skydiving and endless off road trails on public lands.
Just down the road is Buena Vista lake and the California Aquaduct where big catfish and striped bass are cought every day.
Come experience historic Taft's old time charm, peace and tranquility.
