Yup, a real tragedy. A bunch of friends and I were on a cruise when the boat went down. We came out of it okay, but our firearms are in Davey Jones' Locker.

Couldn't you dive in after them or hire a diver to go get them? Not sure how you just let them go to the bottom and not even try to get them back.

Personally, I'm not a very good swimmer. Hiring someone for salvage didn't seem to make financial sense at the time.

It's a real shame about that boat accident, but I'm glad to hear you all made it out ok. Just a thought though, did anyone try contacting the insurance company? It might be worth pursuing to get them to pay for a salvage attempt?

I can definitely relate though, it's a damn shame for your loss.

Several of us have lost firearms in that same area. The hidden rocks in that area are very bad, and the sea water does damage to firearms in very short order. The currents are so swift that recovery would be extremely dangerous. Several people have asked for the exact location, but we are concerned that they would be injured while attempting to recover a firearm that is already damaged beyond repair.

The sharks make it kind of tough too.
