Klingshirn Winery in Avon Lake is small & family-owned, so not super well-known. I've been going there for years.

Not much on ambiance: no restaurant or scenic views. Just a tasting room.

They make/sell wines from their own grapes, mostly Ohio varietals. They also have some european rootstocks that are climate/terroire-approriate for Ohio (Seyval, maybe some others).

It's a bit of a drive from Cleveland but there's a nice winery/restaurant down here in the Newcomerstown / West Lafayette area. Called Raven's Glen Winery. Wines aren't too bad, but then again I'm not much of a wine drinker. So they could probably be better than I think they are.

Towards Akron the Winery at Wolf Creek is very nice, good date night and scenery is beautiful.
