I've rented a cabin there before for Valentine's Day. Wife liked it, but I thought there were too many houses/cabins crammed too close together for any privacy. Kinda hampers the mood when in the hottub.

I don't remember the name of the vacation rental place we used, but just do a Google search on Broken Bow cabins.

Fall is a great time to go. You can hit the Talimena scenic drive. It is about an hour north but well worth the drive.

The cabins in Beaver's Bend State Park are the best, get one on the river. Bad news is they're sometimes booked 2 years in advance. The private cabin rentals around the lake are sometimes too crowded together for my taste, but some are truly remote. Plus 2 1/2 million acres of public land around here if you feel the need to get lost.

We love the southeastern part of the state. Love to hike the Ouachitas. Some good jeep trails there too.

Is the State park open year round for cabin rental? What about camping?

Cabins and campsites open year round. The rv sites are actually pretty busy with the snowbird crowd, though right now they're under about 5 inches of snow themselves. Ought to be beautiful there right now. Check it out.
